It’s All About Jesus

The story of Jesus is not a footnote in history but a revealing of the mystery of God’s love and salvation. His life was radical, filled with teaching, healing, and presence that challenged norms and graciously offered unconditional love.

Born in Bethlehem, Jesus emerged not merely as a historical figure, but as Emmanuel–God with us, unveiling a Kingdom not constrained by worldly boundaries. This Kingdom, which Jesus spoke of frequently, is characterized by righteousness, peace, and joy—where God's perfect will is manifest, and where injustice, sorrow, and death have no place. Jesus didn't shy away from addressing our sin. He often confronted the darkness of sin that separates humanity from God. Sin—more than just a list of wrongdoings—represents a break in our relationship with our Creator and with one another. But in Jesus, we see the antidote. He was not just another teacher or prophet; He was the embodiment of God's mercy and compassion. Through His teachings, miracles, and ultimately His sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection, Jesus bridged the vast divide caused by sin, affirming His unique position as the Son of God and the Savior of the world.

Jesus Calls Us To Follow Him

When Jesus says, "follow me," he's inviting us into a story far grander then our individual narratives or any mere ritual or tradition. He invites to recognize that we have all fallen short; and have not only driven wedges in our relationships with others but are separated from the very source of life—God. In traditional terms, we call this sin, and the consequences of sin. But here’s the breathtaking message of Jesus: He offers reconciliation. By His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus has opened a path to God. He extends to us an invitation for Him to bridge that vast divide between us and God. This is not about adhering to rituals or rules but received by embracing Jesus work on the cross as payment for sin and believing Him to be King. This is knowing Jesus for who He is—Lord and Savior.

This is amazing! We couldn’t possibly save ourselves, but Jesus gives salvation as a gift freely to all who would come to Him.  Accepting this invitation from Jesus isn’t merely about securing a place in an afterlife; it's about declaring that our way and our leadership of ourselves is wrong, and embracing that Jesus’ way, work, and leadership is right. If you want to follow Jesus today, turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. If you’ve decided to turn from your sin and follow Jesus, today you will be saved. Below is a common prayer prayed by many who want to acknowledge Jesus for the first time.

Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I need and want Your forgiveness. I accept Your death as the penalty for my sin, and recognize that Your mercy and grace is a gift You offer to me because of Your great love, not based on anything I have done. Cleanse me and make me Your child. By faith I receive You into my heart as the Son of God and as Savior and Lord of my life. From now on, help me live for You, with You in control. In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.
